Jeremey Clarkson

Clarkson (who I found entertaining on TG, especially the specials) is selling a product : his opinions.

He ensures those meet with enough consumers to make it worth his while.
If they don't, he'll change them then until they do.

Basic business.

He is also very anti-Brexit.
He's a smart bloke (y)
Exactly, great bloke.

I couldn't stand Clarkson when he first appeared on the scene, the annoying git, but I changed my mind over the years, now I think he is one of the greats. His books and newspaper columns are always entertaining. He should go into politics, Rupert Lowe's party ideally.

He’s a very good businessman and good at promoting.

Plus how many men will have their prostate checked now.

He does have a touch of genius, a farming program shouldn’t have worked but he’s turned agricultural TV into a pot of gold to be mined. He has an extraordinary turn of phrase (“fluent in Gerald”) and an actor level voice. And just funny even though he hits on Rache a bit much considering he bought the farm as an IHT tax dodge. He manages to appeal to real farmers and the city types who think badgers are cute rather than pests. That must keep Amazon’s happy. And best of all it’s free to watch if you have Prime anyway.

Not a chance, he’s a traditional torey who sensibly voted to remain. He has a healthy dislike/scepticism about the Yanks.

Funnily enough we only subscribed to Prime after having seen 2 episodes of Clarkson from series 1 round a friends. We do use Amazon a lot so it does make Prime good value for money.

I think that’s a significant factor in Amazon liking his show, it pulls in new Prime members
