Joining Straight Different Width Worktops

I hate it when people don't conclude the thread they make. I've been super busy recently but I've had a bit of time tonight to show the fruits of my efforts and excellent tuition from Doggit.

I used exterior wood glue for the join. It's not perfect by any means, you can feel the join slightly. But it's good enough.

Wow, I wasn't expecting that. You hadn't shown so much in the earlier picture, and I thought that the worktop went backwards, not that it was set back like that.

Under the circumstances, I think you've done a damned good job, despite the wonky advice I gave you. Well done.
