Joist Hanger Nails

I have had the Building Controller around today and he has pointed out that there is only one nail per side through the hangers into the roofing timber.

He wants every hole nailed. My question is, Can I use standard galvanized nails or do I need to buy twist nails like the builder used? (Builder has gone away to work on another job)

I have plenty of galvanized, but would have to go and buy the twist type.
