Kent Access Permit

From 1 January 2021, HGV drivers must have a KAP to travel through Kent to the Port of Dover or the Eurotunnel and on to the EU. The permit helps manage traffic by confirming drivers have the right documents for EU import controls.

Sounds like a sensible idea. Kent.

It's political....it's to stop visible chaos at Dover but push it back to make invisible.

Same reason Gove has spent the last month putting the blame onto business.

I'm not bothered, impending Brexit failure will get into the media and it will be politically damaging.

I wonder how soon Boris will get the blame and get the boot

Yes it has more to do with spreading the chaos around a bit. Also they don't do much checking to get a KAP anyway - there is no validation.

There is no validation. It's a self declaration. It's a ruse to stop people from turning up.

Have a try yourelf.

Well, I got as far the registration number, but not having an articulated lorry, I wasn't really able to go any further and having entered my email address I didn't want to attempt a false number or my van number. They were certainly helpful though, I can't deny that, even going as far as to show me where I might find the number plate.
