Keybox that's actually secure?

Can't remember the one I got but it was so the carers could let themselves in when I was bed-bound.

It was a sold secure or secured by design model recommended by police and came with 100mm masonry screws (the type that screw direct into a hole without a plug) that were 10mm diameter.

Solid construction.

Many years ago, despite them trying to rip my back door to sheds, some scumbags just went around the front and kicked the front door in.
A very common method.
IF you have glass panes in the window the nearest brick or garden tool will be used to remove them so access can be obtained.
These keyboxes are a semi secure method of making a key available to others that know the code.

They are ALL simple enough to break into if you know how, instructions are on Youtube.
Your probably more secure hiding a key under a flower pot that unlocks another lock that unlocks another lock (all in different locations) that gives final access to the key.
Security only keeps out the honest person, the dishonest person WILL gain access when they want.

What about insurance cover - have a look as it may only cover for forced entry so if they whack the pathetic wall key box and get the key you kindly left there for them and let themselves in then it is not forced entry and you may not be covered.

Exactly that. My insurer didn't care that I was having a key safe but did make it clear that they would only pay out for a break in if there was evidence of forced entry.

I now have a key safe with keys in it which is so secure that I cant even get into it myself, I think the keys are pushing against the mechanism inside and have jammed it solid.

A long shot but can you get the keys to move inside the box by using a very strong magnet

When I provided an external key box to a disabled person, I only put one key in it. You don't need a bunch of keys in there. Once the person has accessed your premises they can use your indoor rack or cabinet for the keys to the back door, shed, garage, garden gate etc. I also put it on a wall away from the front door so a casual caller would not know it was there.

A BS3621 deadlock for your front door is about as good a lock as you can buy. No little combination lock on a zinc box will be anywhere near as good. You can get much better lockable cabinets for the rest of your keys, and put one inside your house, out of sight in a cupboard or something.

If you haven’t got an anti bump or anti snap lock/ handle then you may as well leave the door open.

Could you have a word with a friendly neighbour and put it on their property instead? You could offer to do the same for them.

Squirt some wd40 down the sides of each thumbwheel, then try again after 15 minutes or so.
