Yes, if someone enters with a key there is no "forced entry" which is usually a requirement for insurers to pay out.Is it true that house insurance doesn't generally cover you if someone breaks in with a key
that is my take on it as they mention covered if there was a forced entry - using a key is not forced entryIs it true that house insurance doesn't generally cover you if someone breaks in with a key ?
Good luck with trying that one on the insurers. In that case they will pay out for the stolen key as it was gained by force the rest of your positions are not covered i reckon. .Even if the key is obtained by "forcible entry" to the keysafe?
I suppose that's why they have a generous "lock replacement" cover if your keys are stolen, as happened to a relative when her car was snatched as she was getting in.that is my take on it as they mention covered if there was a forced entry - using a key is not forced entry
My insurers wouldn't commit to that either way when I was intending to install a key safe, I never got a definite answer. They just said they were happy for me to install a key safe of any standard but reminded me that they would not pay if there was no forced entry.Even if the key is obtained by "forcible entry" to the keysafe

Surely there would be a case for disability discrimination in such a case. That is that a disabled person is highly likely to need that sort of access in an emergency and therefore a keybox. I wonder if that has ever been tested in court.Yes.
I have one hidden at the back of my house and I’ve needed it a few times when I’ve accidentally locked myself out.Problem with keyboxes is you’re telling thieves where your keys are
