My sister lives in one of those expensive gated communities, a free runner/parkour broke in through a neighbour's first floor window. The home owners were downstairs at the time.
 
Don't forget most people have a Ring doorbell that would see anyone walking towards the front door anyway.

True, but there have been cases recently where professional toe rags have used WiFi jammers to knock the ring doorbell offline.

With regards to your average crackhead, the doorbell is enough to discourage them.
 
I've never seen or met anyone who has being robbed by this method.

Fair play, I have seen footage of guys walking up the house and then the ring going dark. It is relatively rare though.

In the olden days you needed a orinoco gold wifi card in laptop (running linux) to flood the wifi network. I guess you can now purchase a dedicated device to do something similar.

Again, it is not common place, but it can happen.
