Hi

We're close to completing our kitchen and are looking for chrome / silver fittings for the visible electrics.

Has anyone had expereince of which type / brand etc. or any guidance on which ones are more durable? I was thinking with condensation and changes in heat etc. maybe silver / chrome wouldn't last.

Thanks

Plain metaclad faces can look good in a kitchen. If not, go for a satin or brushed finish, as shiny will show scratches really obviously. And if they come with rubber gaskets USE THEM! I had some brass ones that reacted with the plaster and rusted all over the face plate.

Thanks for the advice, always good to hear about other peoples experiences before going ahead with anything!

Cheers for the rubber gasket tip :D

If you think of buying flat, flush plate type fittings then make sure you have 32mm back boxes first.
