If i have a washing machine, fridge etc under the work surfaces in the kitchen would it make sense to have a isolation switch above the counter connected to a terminal outlet under the counter at the back of the appliance?

Seems like a nice idea to me but maybe overkill, it probably means rewiring the kitchen when i replace the kitchen as well so maybe not a good idea?

Any views on this greatly appreciated.

Either FCU and unfused socket

OR

20A DP switch and FUSED socket (well plugtop)

Your combination would leave the appliance with NO overcurrent protection. That's a bad thing™
