I have a lamp where the pull string has broken off and there is no existing thread left to re attach to, see photo, the unit the bulb goes into seems to be sealed by a metal surround I was wondering if there is anyway to at least get the lamp to be in the on position so that even if the pull string couldn’t be reattached it could still be turned on and off at the wall, any suggestions? I can’t seem to get the white part off the stand

The white bit don't come off unless you release the catch within, but likely pointless removing that.
Where's the actual switch, that's what you need to bypass

Trued unscrewing but it appears to be fixed on to the metal base, the pull string goes between the metal prong that sticks out so there’s just a small hole where the pull string would have gone into so no switch other than that,

If you look inside thd top you see ridges round the circumference, there will be a brass or plastic bit sticking out into one of the grooves stopping it turning,
If you use a screwdriver to push that down then the top white bit should screw off.
The terminxl plate should then lift out, then the base may then screw off accessing this switch
