Lintel above a round window?

I need to fit a round window (approx 3ft diameter) in a bathroom on exterior wall, the exterior of the house is brick.

The existing window space will be partly used but some form of lintel will be needed where we break out more wall.

Has anyone any ideas? do curved lintels exist? if traditional lintels are used how do you secure the bricks filling the corners between window and lintel. Ideas please...

ps the job is in London...so welcome any recommended supplier

Most of the lintel manufacturers make a round lintel. Google Catnic or IG.

I suspect that lining the round opening with radial bricks will provide you with a strong arch that needs no lintel. I think it looks nice too.

Have a word with your local BC to see if it's acceptable.

You do not need a lintel. As said above run a snapped header round the circumference of window inside and out, and this forms your arched support. We often use a contrasting brick for the faced circular ring.

For a half tidy bricklayer it is a fiddly but straight forward job. If you want to know how it is done, let us know.
