Dashcam footage apparently reveals he knew exactly what he was doing and captures him shouting/ swearing at ppl as he ploughed into them.

Oh yeah, BTW he's an Everton fan..

They showed car cam footage, from his cam, which appeared to show his irrational driving well before the incident - driving through red lights, and narrowly missing people at a crossing. They said something about him rushing to meet friends.

I originally assumed he had simply panicked, but the above seems to suggest other factors were at play.

He only changed his plea at the last moment. That’s the act of a cynical career criminal

I think the judge referenced that in their summing up. He essentially lost his temper and snapped.
