Loft insulation around led spots

Hi we've he aflat roof installed and sell text is up their but was getting droughts from the lights , the builders awnser was to push loft insulation around the space surrounding the lights , this has worked but is it safe .not sure what else can be done now the ceiling is up and plastered thankyou

Remove ceiling
Install insulation
Replace ceiling
Install lights which are not recessed into the insulation.

If cold draughts are entering via the lights, warm moist air is going up there, which will cause mould and rot inside the ceiling.

Was your builder aware that there would be downlights thre?
Is/was building control involved - they will not like holes in the Celotex (note spelling).

You have a cold roof construction. You should have a warm roof
