this is an excellent example of lazy Daily Mail stereotyping which typifies the poorly educated

Here is another excellent example:

Gym membership
Designer clothes
£3-400 a time to see a concert
Leasing a new car every year
A couple of foreign holidays per year
£30-£40k weddings, thinking they are celebrities

The people who push this nonsense are usually boomers who bought cheap in the 1980s and don’t know what it’s like to be trapped in extortionate rent

Wages have stagnated IF you don't better yourself. If you plod along doing the same old thing and do just enough to not get sacked then you'll be getting poorer.

If you've got promoted and/or switched employers a few times and/or started a business yourself then hopefully you'll have increased your income.

Sadly socialism brings with it a sense of entitlement that encourages people to stay in their place and not have ambition, which makes people poorer. Which is what Labour wants, as if you stay poor you'll be more likely to vote for them to get more handouts and/or regulations and/or unions.

The govt are also making people poorer by taxing them more. Last year's budget cost me £600, this year's unknown but definitely a cost due to fiscal drag. The Labour party is bleeding the poor until the pips squeak, to pay the elites and to bribe the non-working trash to vote for them.

How fortunate that those people saved hard for a good few years, went without luxuries, bought a house that needed completely refurbishing, filled it with secondhand furniture and lived in one room for over a year while they did their house up. Can you imagine today’s twenty somethings doing that? I can’t.

Exactly.

What you earn is not determined by what you need, unless you have decided to earn what you need.
Totally irrelevant.

The question was,

why you dont think people should be able to live on an earned wage, however much or little it is.

Just try addressing that, and then answering it.

Many do exactly that.

A lot can't even obtain a mortgage to even aspire to doing that.

Wages have stagnated
Agreed, in fact they have relativley worsened

And that is the point. many are only able to do basic low level jobs, but it's still a job that needs doing, or it wouldn't exist. Why can't they live on that? Nobody is asking for them to live the life of a millionaire playboy
If you've got promoted and/or switched employers a few times and/or started a business yourself then hopefully you'll have increased your income.
And many do

And now we are just making excuses for paying people such low wages that they cant live on them

You don’t find it rather daft to set a rule that people should be able to live on what they earn without having first worked out what that is?

They can if they buy a wreck and tough it out for a few years but they won’t. They want a brand new house filled with brand new gadgets with brand new cars parked outside.
No.

There's too many people that can't get mortgages for what you say.

If it was just 1 or 2 in a specific area, maybe. But it's a countrywide issue
