You, or your computer, should not be using the recovery disk. This is normally a separate partition of the hard disk which contains a copy of your windows installation (OS) in case the main one gets corrupt or whatever, and you need to reinstall the OS

You would need to check that you are not using it for saving stuff, or that Windows is not using it for the page file, or system restore points, or that you don't have a back-up program running and saving to it

You will probably need to Google those terms and find out how to check depending on what OS you are using

Alternatively, it could be a virus writing/using the recovery partition

Download WINDIRSTAT

It's free, and will show you exactly what's on your partition, and you can delete hidden files. Possibly it's something within your recycle bin that you can't see.

Could not disagree more!!! Ideally you need to be using said drive and any other to save files too, documents like photos music word files etc....should not be kept on the C drive

If you are using the recovery drive to save files too this has no affect on being able to use the recovery file on that drive

Just open the drive and see what is there, that will tell you why its full!!

A recovery partition is just that - a partition to be used for recovery purposes. You should not be writing or accessing it for daily use

Otherwise why have a dedicated recovery partition?

The recovery partition is there to hold the recovery image.
Also using it for storage is not a no no, it is just disk space.

Am am sure that it also does not put any temporary files there when recovering, I have used it before when full to recover from.

So there is no reason not to use it.
Although it is better to use it for system files required when recovering.

However, that is not what the problem is here.

I suggest the OP uses Google.
Then sites such as the following can answer the question.
