Lowering a lighting pylon at football ground

Seriously.....

I have never seen one that hinges at the base. Only ever lowered ones that hinge just below half way up.
 
could the hinge just have been used at initial installation then :confused:

It would be a good idea to conact whoeber installed them
 
I would be interested to know.

Just seems there will be a huge amount of force put onto that hinge, the ground bolts and who ever, or whatever lowers it!

I wondered about the strength of the bolts in the ground too taking into account wind resistance etc. Is one missing too? We had some 12m ones put up but they didn't hinge and the bases look somewhat wider (living in a windy county!). Those only had a pair of 400w SONS.
 
Last ones we fitted where 12m, and they where root mounted into a HUGE cube of concrete below the ashphalt!
 
its true they are set into a small concrete base.
and yes they are 17 meters high.
We would have contacted the installers but there is no record of them.
