tried using some to secure some conduit for cables but they don't work in brickwork at all and just bend up. What is their intended use? and if they are not designed for brickwork why is this not specified? Brickwork is masonry is it not ?
If it's any consolation, I can't get away with them either......fine on thermalite or other soft blocks and on lime mortar but otherwise they either bend or snap off like bullets
Must be doing something wrong!
John
If you can knock em into a masonry joint then I have some success there, but not into brick. Anyhow our house is built of Accrington bricks which laugh in the face of many things, which is both reassuring and damn annoying.
Not daft at all Doggit - that's exactly how cast iron pipes with "ears" used to be nailed to walls. A pilot hole just smaller than the pipenail was made with a Rawlplug tool and hammer.
