What is the maximum size appliance you can run from a switched fused spur on a ring?? I had 2200W in my head, is this correct? Cheers

if it's a fused spur it can have max 13A fuse in it

About 3kW

I dont think that is correct... not if its a fixed applicance... anyone else able to enlighten us..... :?

You can safely run 13A / 3kW from an FCU supplied by a ring.

However, it is not good circuit design, and large fixed loads should really be fed from their own dedicated radial circuit.

I dont think that is correct...

So why you f'in asking, then? If you think the answer you're gonna get is wrong, what's the point in asking?

As RF says, it's not good design, however, rings often support loads of 13A.

Whether they're fixed or not I'm not sure makes much difference: it's still a 13A load.

You have 2200W in your head: why? And what difference does the extra 800W or so make?
