Hi

I'm going to install a permanent breaker with enclosure to hard wire a couple of small air conditioning units (at the moment they are just plugged into a 13 amp sockets). I have looked at various types but they all come separately. Does anyone know if and where I can get a complete unit from (enclosure with 16 amp breaker). I was wondering if the sheds do them as I wont be able to get it until the weekend.

Thanks

Reason for selling the case / enclosure and MCB sperately is simply flexibility.

Some might want 5a, 10a, 16a, 32a, 45a or even RCD or RCBO devices.

Not sure if the sheds will sell them, most Electrical wholesalers are open Saturday 8-12- look in the yellow pages and phone 1st.

Price comparison from TLC would be:-

Enclosure http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/MK5502.html

MCB http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/MK5916.html

About £16 + VAT from TLC or about £25 from grumpy indie wholesaler who won't give a discount

As always, disclaimer re: Part P, testing and cert- You should have / do it the legal way.

I'd also suggest you do some load calcs for a radial with 'X' number of aircon units at 'Y' kw and cable distance / size before buying the wrong MCB and wrong cable (potentially speaking)
