Merge In Turn, why does no one do it properly!

I’m sure I’ve been to a country that had such a system in occasional places , much shorter period than a couple of minutes per lane though; more like 5 seconds, to promote the zip merge.

People should be taught to use roundabouts like zip merges, and there should be far more roundabouts and far fewer traffic lights. Skills issue though; lights work for all but the most clueless drivers, roundabouts are much higher up the competency scale

Coming off the A3 eastbound onto the A238 heading for the A24 at S. Wimbledon there is a 2>1 merge with a junction on the left just where the lanes merge, and >90% of the time I go through everyone does it correctly and it's seamless. So maybe there is hope!

Taught Mrs S a couple of things recently they she wasn't aware of. As Mottie mentioned earlier, you can enter a box junction when turning right if your exit is clear and second, if you continue driving in a lane with a red X above it, you are liable to a £100 fine and 3 points.

My driving examiner asked me the following question on my test and I got it right, what if all the lanes have a red X above them?
You must stop.
