I understand the HRA can be amended. But I just want a simple answer as to how that can be done in a way which will stop the small boats. I have done quite a bit of Googling and cannot find anything to support what you say. If I had made such a claim, I would be able to give a lucid explanation in a couple of short paragraphs. And I expect others to try to do the same. I can't face a hundred pages of going round in circles.

The aim of any amendment is not to physically stop the boats arriving, it is to make the consequences of arriving here illegally by boat not worth the risk.
Make it a criminal offence with a minimum term of 5 years.

Not yet. But it might be necessary in future. Although, as discussed above, their judgments aren't actually binding.

I can envisage a scenario where this illegal immigration problem becomes much worse. And the only way to stop it is to take some very tough measures which are prohibited by ECHR. But I am hopeful that other ways to fix it will turn up. Europe as a whole is working on various plans. Also, they are actually looking at reforming ECHR to make it easier to deal with illegal immigration. I have always found, though, that it is best to keep an open mind. Or we could just ignore any rulings on the issue.

Mainly off-shoring the processing, I think. That is the last thing I read. I don't follow the news much these days, though.

I do agree with your conclusion that the migrant influx from the third world to the west will only become more problematic as time goes on, though.
The longer it is left to 'go on' will only mean that the solution is more draconian in nature.
No one wants that.
