For the umpteenth time, it's perfectly legal to arrive in a country and claim asylum. In fact, as far as UK is concerned, by boat, is the only way to arrive to claim asylum.

A report in the Times on Saturday tells of 6,000 migrants arriving so far this year and are being recruited to work in drug gangs: for £3,000 a trip they're smuggled in by boat (or at £15,000 a ride in a lorry). In Has, the population has gone down from 17,000 ten years ago to 8,000, now mostly in London. A council chief in another Albanian town says "for us, the UK is everything" as people leave to find work and often end up in the Albanian gangs: one of them, Fation Dauti, has been linked to drug trafficking and people smuggling and had his British Residency revoked in 2019 but is fighting the ban at the ECHR.
It seems the Albanians have taken over the drug/people smuggling trade route from Kurds.

You didn't mention the terror and persecution these poor, humble people have fled from.

If the Times knows that and or is able to find it out, just what is this government doing ?

Everybody, and especially everybody in "vibrant, multicultural" towns, knows what is going on and where the illegal immigrants end up.

Everybody except the government and the MSM that is.

The immigrants are housed and have some money, but not enough, so life in the USA is no better, and sometimes worse than at home (wherever that is). That leaves them with 2 options, 1) go back home, or 2) turn to crime. The same is more than likely going to be happening here, and seeing as they paid a fortune to get here, option 1 is a non starter.

Similar choice faced by West Indian immigrants: i think it was mostly Jamaican 'Rude Boys' who took on the drug trade in the early 70s...

No you can fly to any airport on false papers, jump on the back of a Eurotunnel bound lorry etc. etc. Provided you present yourself immediately upon arrival and have a genuine claim you will not be prosecuted for your illegal entry.

Or you could get on a dingy and leg it as soon as you arrive and then b** and moan when you are found, run up a big legal aid bill and eventually be rejected. like the vast majority who come to the UK via illegal means on a people smugglers boat.
