I think also, you are rather concerned that only non-white children are considered vulnerable. It isn't the ethnicity that creates vulnerability,

The organisation name is minority matters, not Vulnerable children matter. What do you think Minority means. Could it be The filthy rich? as they are a Minority
I disagree with that, absolutely.
Is that the best you could come up with?

What about the children of Redcar? are they a minority. Or Glasgow

I think also, you are rather concerned that only non-white children are considered vulnerable. It isn't the ethnicity that creates vulnerability, it can be the child's development, the parent's interest in their child's wellbeing, etc.
Children of caring parents can also become vulnerable. Children become extremely adept at hiding things from their parents, that they don't want them to know.

Minorities matter
Minority communities are under-represented in the decision making process when it comes to consulting stakeholders in policymaking. We encourage contributions from minority communities so that services are used by those hard to reach community members who wouldn’t otherwise engage with authorities.

Expanding horizons
Our ultimate goal is to ensure that minority communities enjoy the same benefits as communities who are more engaged and involved in decision making at the local level.

My neighbour behind has the same forename as me a hard working Black man with a lovely wife a great son. do ok I think.
Does his son deserve more attention/protection than my girls, based on his a minority on my estate..
or the Indian family on the same row with two kids a little older than mine.

we are all hard working clean living good people. do we not all need the same care? The drug dealers are the enemy all of us.

It isn't about ethnicity, it's about the level of vulnerability, and general disadvantage.

ps, Glad to see your keyboard working again.

All from their website

in times like these, it’s so important to stand together and support each other.

We know there are fears and uncertainties in all of our communities. As a charity, we are standing in solidarity with local authorities and the medical community to support our communities.

We will provide support to vulnerable members of our communities by:

  • Ensuring correct information is shared through our community channels
  • We work closely with communities to identify and help vulnerable people who have no support networks
  • Work with local authorities to ensure access to support is easy for ethnic minority communities
  • support hospitals and other points of care with ethnic minority community members who are facing language barriers, have disabilities or other barriers restricting them from getting help.
We will be doing the above by liaising closely with local authorities and other statutory bodies.

We are also setting up a helpline for people who need information or practical support, to lessen the load on our services. We will publish the number here, as soon as it goes live.

We will also be doing videos in English and Somali, to support our immediate communities.

The Covid-19 pandemic needs our focus. We shouldn’t forget other issues during this difficult time.

We know there are still many children and young people being criminally exploited. This group is especially vulnerable as attention is diverted by the current crisis.

If need our support in helping a child or adult who is criminally exploited, please reach out to us. You can email us at [email protected]

We will work with statutory bodies to ensure families get access to urgent support, where needed.

We wish you and your loved ones good health. Please take care of yourselves.

The Minority Matters team.

For someone to need their help, they don't need to meet all those criteria. Any one criteria met will suffice.
So point 1. is a general sharing of information.
Point 2 relates to vulnerable children.

Do you honestly think that a charity will deny a vulnerable person the support that they need, because they are white?
Apart from that I've just provided information that shows that white children can be minorities also.
Suppose a Polish child, or Jewish child, or French child was considered vulnerable, do you think that a charity would deny them the necessary support because of the colour of their skin?

I think you're just trying to resurrect the old inaccurate and irrelevant argument about the MOBO awards, but with a different organisation.

Totally agree with you , so why not call it Children matter?
Or we all Matter.
Or together we matter

I live in a town that is majority white English.
We are not a minority nor are we generally well off. Our children are just vulnerable as the minorities thst are no less well off than their white neighbours.
