Recently bought a house and didn’t pick up on survey a brick missing below bay French doors that jut out from the house (see picture). It’s below the DPC with some sort of polystyrene I think at the back. Would this be a missing air brick or something more major to worry about?

Looks like a collapsed air brick with a clumsily fitted piece of PIR, to keep the varmint out.

Yeah I think it is the perimeter PIR. Should it be covered or will an air brick suffice to cover the hole?

Are the floors suspended, wood? Of been replaced?

Looks like an old air vent/brick.

If still wooden and suspended, i would take out the insulation and put in a new air brick..

My response assumes it’s a concrete floor. In which case there should be a brick there.

If everyone else reckons it’s a missing air brick, with PIR showing for an unknown reason, then great (y)

You’re right @23vc I believe it’s a missing brick as it’s concrete floor above. Got a second opinion in person and they agree it’s a missing brick. No idea why it’s missing or what happened to it. But I think that has been solved. Thanks for the help everyone.
