Moving a boiler into a Conservatory

But I would need planning permission if I wanted to put radiators in there from the house system. Is that correct?
No!

It's Building Regulations Approval that you will need. Contact the Building Control department of your local council.

Well you learn something new everyday. So what are the additional budding regs required to fit a rad? Most descent conny fitter would have fitted 100mm kingspan in the floor as a minimum.

With regards to selling, if you have fitted a rad/UFH without BR approval. Nothing to stop the seller capping off the source of heat.

No reg has been imposed then, I know it's not the point but at least the house could be sold.

Just had a quick read of the regs, Im on my phone so bit difficult to take it all in. So if I'm right, you can fit heating off the circs, providing its individually controlled(which UFH and a rad would). Also basically you have to keep the existing doors between the dwelling and the conny (which is normal).

That right?

As current Regs stand you will never get BR approval to fit a rad of the main system, it now has to be a completely independent heating system.

On the phone to who? Whoever your talking to has got it wrong but that’s not unusual; if your speaking to LABC, ask to speak to someone other than the tea lady  What you state used to be the case up until October 2010. Read the specific clauses posted, unusually there is no ambiguity in this case & it’s perfectly clear if you compare it with the pre Oct 2010 version of Part L. You can chose to follow whichever version suits you best but whoever you’ve spoken to is wrong & not up to speed with the current version of Part L!

Rich i meant as in on my iphone mate lol...

From what i could gather, it says independantly controlled? Also the inter dividing walls have to be insulated and also the door to be draught proofed?

Im not sure if this is the case too, but a surveyor told me bsck in march that if you wanted to remove your interconnecting doors, you can. Providing that you increase the insulation else where in the house to offset the heat loss in the newly opened up area.
