The amazon meter is called the infurider brand. Subconsciously, I knew what that was about: to infuriate. It ate 4 sets of batteries within an hour. So, returning that for refund. I have gone back to the china meter, now £3 cheaper. The amazon meter was OK if it wasn't deliberately designed to infuriate. My winter battery measured MIN 8.9V, and MAX 14.4 from the alternator. The state was OK but not great. From this, I can conclude 1 mile of driving wasn't adequate to recharge the battery to make up for the engine start consumption. 2 miles might do it.
