Multiple ID's

I have seen many references to posters having multiple ID's or using a different ID when their previous one(s) have been banned. I also came across a post on another forum in which the poster was boasting that he had multiple IDs on this forum.

How do you identify multiple IDs? Is it purely by style of writing, content etc or is there a more scientific method?

Why is nothing done about this?

Nothing has ever been done about it, it demeans the forum, and the posters who do it.

The mods will have easy access to the information required, the shame is they do nothing.

Edit: Perhaps they do more than we realise.....

They're not that easy to identify from an admin pov.
If the user registers with a different email adress and from a different place (i.e. work instead of home) each time then you can't even trace by IP, so all you're left with is posting style i guess.

Tbh, i did it on another forum cos a mod seemed to have it in for me and kept suspending me. So i created another user account with a different email address.
