Need A Multitool...

Can I buy any Ah value of 18V XR battery to use with the drill/ driver and multitool?
Yes, I have used 2, 3, 4, 5Ah - maybe not 5Ah on the device as very heavy - but it would work

toolstation do a kit with a 4Ah battery - FYI

The AH rating is the working time between charges so find the best for your available money.
Dont be afraid to look beyond Screwfix etc as there are often better deals to be found.
The Flexvolt variety can give more AH but not on 18v tools

my brother in law has done this a few times on dead batteries - mainly for a boat system
i also think he shorted the connections out

I think the charges have a sensor - so there needs to be some voltage for it to charge

Also I know leaving these batteries with no charge for a long period of time - OR in the cold below zero causes issues

anyway - nothing to lose

i see they have a 3 speed version now available - I know the 3 speed on the impact driver i use different speeds a lot - not sure about the multi-tool - BUT again just a DIYer so maybe not the variation for usage

Both of my oscillating saws have variable speed dials. Is that not the norm?

Just tried this. No go.

But I have to say my batts and charger were different.

The batts didn't have any LEDs on them and the charger had no fan.

As it's heading for recycling, I will try warming it up in the oven on 50 degrees to see if that brings it back to life.

I know when my car battery wouldn't charge, it was because it needed a min of 2V and when I warmed it up with a hairdryer, it started charging with the CTEK.

Can't use my CTEK, as it's only for lead acid batteries...

There are more videos of complete battery rebuilds
Inside the yellow casing is a bundle of cylindrical l-ion batteries which are available to buy.
But once you add your time and trouble to the expense its better to just buy a new dewalt unit.
Flashing batteries can restore them but its very temporary.

not on my dewalt - the trigger does control the speed to some extent - but min is effectually 1 speed - no switch to control

Ahh, both of mine have sliding switches. I have never used one with trigger. Tnx

Has anybody used one of these
Are they actually going to cut new teeth to replace the ones worn away?

I also am in need of one and have been looking for a while but now I have a job for it I am going to get one. I need to cut a slot right at the back and bottom of a kitchen wall unit so would the blades in the kit do the job for me whilst I look into a wider selection of blades. It come with these
31 x 43mm fast cut wood blade, a 31 x 43mm wood with nails blade,

I need to cut a slot right at the back and bottom of a kitchen wall unit
is this just the wall unit wood panel - Or brickwork etc

I use saxtonblades for multitool blades - they have a kit , which i have used ALL the blades over a lot of DIY jobs and also purchased them seperately

i think there is only one not used , as its very very small when mounted the bottom r/h/s semi / half circle

Not used one so can't vouch for them, my feeling is that a standard flat blade would be easier.

not sure how exactly they would work as the blade or box section in this case is oscillating/rotating by perhaps 3mm more than the cutter size so unless the box cutter is undersized it will cut an oversized hole
and the teeth by there action will spend as much time going side to side as cutting into the board
