Hello,

A few months ago I added an outdoor lamp to my front porch. Simple job, drilled a hole through the wall, fed the wiring through and it connects up to a standard household socket just the other side.

I've only just thought of the following and have no idea what I need to buy or even the correct name for it so here goes...

What I would like to be able to do is have a remote so that I can trigger the light to come on, much like how people can have a remote for their garage door so they can open it without getting out of their car when they return home. Keep in mind though that I've already got the lamp so all I really want is something to add in between the lamp plug and the household socket that has a remote for me to trigger from outside, approx 2 - 3 metres away.

So, any ideas on what such a device would be called and where I might be able to get one online? :)

I hope it doesn't. """alarm bells"""

why not fit a pir to it, seems a better idea than remote control
