Good evening all,

I'm in need of a new boiler however this isn't an area I have any experience / knowledge of so am hoping for some guidance.

I have a four bedroom four bathroom mid terrace property and a family of 6. Our current boiler is on the way out (very expensive fault so is being replaced). Even before the current fault our existing system could not run two showers at the same time (which with 6 of us is a problem). Property is 5 years old. What would you recommend?

From my basic research tonight it appears to me vaillant are the boiler of choice for reliability and economy of use. From using the 'which boiler' part of there website they are recommending the ecoTEC exclusive 838 however I think the ecoTEC plus 937 is a better system for me.

Can anyone 'in the know' give me some guidance on the above systems and any others they would recommend? Am after reliability, economy and the ability to run multi bathroom and kitchen at the same time.

Many thanks,
Rob

Good choise with the valiant and I'd go for an unvented hot water cylinder. This is a mains fed cylinder so will give good pressure. Something like a Gledhill 250 litre stainless lite for a house and family of our size.

Some parts of Sheffield suffer with very poor water pressure and flow. Before shelling out lots of money, get your installer to check flow and pressure. With 3 bathrooms makes you wonder why an unvented was not installed. I wonder if you have an Istor or Power Max boiler installed.
