i'm trying to install a new ceiling rose in the hall. this is also linked to an upstairs landing light. switch downstairs controls both hall and upstairs.

From the ceiling there are three reds into central block. 1 black to another block and then two blacks to a double block.

Going into that , I'm install a three lamp spot. are three live and three neutral.

Any help please.

Look in the For Reference sticky and/or the Wiki for info on how ceiling roses are wired.

But why not simply wire the new one how the old one is? Do make a careful note of which wire is which before you remove the old one though.

You will need some connector blocks to enable you to fit this light . The three reds in the middle need to go in a conector block togethr , not conneted to your light in any way . The two blacks need to go to the two blues as the neutral of your fitting. The black on its own goes to the live of your new fitting. Earths if needed are connect to the fittings earth terminal or as the lives connected together in a connector block .
