New Gas Boiler

I went to a Keston years ago, totally unimpressed, photo copied paperwork, looked amaturish, what totally ****ed me off was that there was no mention anywhere about an overheat stat, which I eventally found myself, "inside" the casing, this sort of thing encourages customers to take fronts off, not good.

Okay Guys it was a KESTON C40.

I am glad I susseed that it was a Keston !

The Kestons with a thermal fuse inside do mention this in then photocopied MI.

The Geminox MI are also rather amateurishly photocopied even though their bigger boilers are quite serious looking appliances until you look at the PCB.

Okay Guys it was a KESTON C40. I agree they have been fantastic in sending out the parts next day (no engineer to fit them though)
Boiler suddenly shut down with E.24 (not listed in the manual) it equates to a Thermistor failure !!! Custard not happy tho as the C.40 we took out was only 6 yrs old, the HE had split open causing POC's to burn everything inside to a pulp, we had to fit another keston as the flue system goes all over the place and there is another C.40 running in tandem with it so there it is !!

You should have learned after the first one to stay away.

Hope you are billing them for your time!

Actually the Custard is blaming my company for the boiler failing as we dared to do a service last December so I have the distinct feeling that a long and legnthy battle for payment could be on the cards (oh the joy of being a Service Engineer!)
