I've been trying to replace this :
With this :
So this is the old hanging bulb rose :
Which has
3 x earth (green/yellow) in 1 cable
1 x live (black with red sleeve)
2 x neutral (black)
3 x loop (red)
However the new light fitting only has a hole for Live and Neutral, and a screw to connect Earth to :
So my initial question was, what do i do this those 3 red loop wires, and with the second neutral one ?
I went to B&Q and was advised to get one of these junction boxes, which i did, together with some wiring (which has a live, earth, and neutral in it)
As advised i then connected it up like this :
3 x earth --> terminal box --> 1 x earth into earth screw of new lamp
2 x neutral --> terminal box --> 1 x neutral into new lamp.
1 x live --> terminal box --> 1 x live into new lamp.
3 x loop --> terminal box (clamped together).
But i just tried the light, and it's not working.
Is it likely that one of the wires has become undone in the junction box, or have i wired something up incorrect ?
