New Rolawn laid

I've just had a new lawn laid on top of a proper sand base etc. and it looks great - I know I have to keep it well watered, is there any other advice anyone can give around, when it should take a first cut, fed, etc?

Is it laid on just sand?

depends a bit on the weather but if it is well watered then it will be ready for a high cut after 2-3 weeks. Dont let it get too long or it will weaken the grass. Dont feed it for at least 6 months.

i assume he means a sandy loam base!

Yes I did mean a sand/loam base.....and I've given it a high cut with a new mower with a cylinder cutter and rear roller, what a picture!!!!
