On consideration, perhaps I was among those who reacted too strongly at the news that an arrest had been made.
I also think it was wrong of the police and media to give the suspect's name, age, location and job, and show his picture and other details.
Firstly, this will impact his chances of a fair trial if a prosecution results.
Secondly, if it turns out that he didn't do it, he will have suffered great damage to his reputation. I wouldn't be surprised if someone burns down his house.
