NHS - Taking part in research

A few weeks ago, I was asked to take part voluntarily, in some research on behalf of the NHS. Basically, stress test of my heart, whilst in a MRI scanner. I was told, that if they found anything amiss, then my doctor's surgery would be informed. Since the tests, I have heard nothing more, at all. Rather expected I might receive some sort of report, on the condition of my heart, but nothing at all. I'm just wondering if I ought to give them a nudge, and ask them for the results?

You can ring the research team, answering these questions is part of their jobs.

But no, normally if there's nothing interesting then you wont hear back. In terms of the detailed analysis, it's probably something being processed by a different team and probably hasn't even been started yet. Most NHS research has a central team that designs the study and processes the data, and many other sites that collect it for them. You'd only be notified if you had a heart murmur or something worrying.

It's also less likely to show up on the NHS app than normal procedures.

I had a CT scan on my heart almost 3 weeks ago and i have heard nowt!!

I had a psa test back in April the doc said he would contact me when the results were in. I'd heard nothing beginning of June so download the NHS app. The results were there.

That is the way they seem to work, these days, relying on the patient to chase things up. I have a blood/urine test, every 3 months, done by my local surgery on behalf of the hospital. The hospital follows it up with a scheduled call, but my surgery never gets in touch with me, unless I make an appointment for a call.

Done a couple of tests this year reading still in mid teens but results came in a letter saying i had missed last months face to face appointment , nope i had a letter cancelling it months ago till end of year.
Letter also mentioned possibly another mri , thats them just being better safe than sorry which is not a bad thing
