He wants to contest the Standards Committee decision against 'the will of the people', if he's re-elected.Not in the least. He knows that the minute he wins again (and he will) the investigation will start up again so there is nothing to be gained regarding that.
But the 'will of the people' has little influence on legal matters such as this.
Parliament is supreme.
Imagine if he is penalised, (if he wins the non-contested by-election against Binface) and has to stand yet again for re-election against the major parties..
His campaign will be Farage against the establishment.
