No hot water from the taps

could someone please advise - my husband changed his mum's radiator yesterday, run off the water in the house, changed radiator and then when all done the radiator didn't heat up, he got that working eventually as one minute water was not going into the tank, then no water but all was ok last night however he went round today and the radiator is working but now there is no hot water from the taps - he thinks there is no water going into the tank hence no hot water so does anyone have any suggestions please. thank you so much.

The system is an immersion heater in the cupboard, water tank in the loft - no combi boiler as the fire is attached to a back boiler

Need more info on the system and associated components

If the storage cistern in the loft is empty then that is the problem, maybe ballcock stuck or choked. Check that first.

he did check that, that was ok - what did you mean by choke

sounds like you have an airlock in the pipework from the cylinder
