[RF Lighting]

This week I have been mostly carrying out PIRs for a chain of well known convenience stores.

In one of the stores I found this TP dist board.

Makes a change to find something done right!

Why are all the neutrals on one side? There is two neutral bars on Merlin kit, numbered according to the outgoing ways. They have numbered the neutrals though.

I would prefer to have seen proper cable markers, rather than tape!

I am also not too keen on loosing all the cables behind the pan assembly - it can be difficult to work on the installation in the future.

Very neat though.

is that a bit of cardboard at the top? Is it a chafe-protector?

Unusual idea.

The "tape for labels" is a good trick, presumably taken up by someone who didn't have a label-maker or a kit of sticky numbers. I do the same thing myself sometimes. Handy in ceiling roses.

I also like the dished washers. Mounting screws look a bit small though.

that's an awfully big bush for 1 earth wire..

neutrals are in terminals 1-12, same as the circuits..

isn't it bad practice to "tag" earths with coloured tape.. and neutrals for that matter..
that indicates that they are phase conductors surely..

numbers and letters are cheap enough.. the "sticky tape" type are cheaper still..

The bush is 40mm as the DB was originally fed with 16.0mm² tails, and was later upgraded to a SWA feed.
