How do all of you sparky's notify your work under part P , I assume via various mandatory scheme's ??

How do you know that those organisation's will not use the imformation that you have supplied in order to further there own buissness interest's , for example contact your customer's & offer some type of insurance scheme ect ect ??? or would this not be relevant ????

1) It would be a criminal offence (Data Protection Act).

2) Scheme membership conditions include you offering an insurance-backed guarantee, don't they?

Well i get insurance backed guarantee, i would imagine all providers would offer the same service.

The reason I asked is because over on the combustion chamber thread they are seething !!! absolutely raging !!!

Corgi who no longer run the regisration scheme for gas installer's , have set up a insurannce scheme called Corgi home serve , installing & maintaining all boiler's installed in the last 5 year's .

It was a condition of being corgi reg to notify all domestic boiler install's to them , it would appear that they are now useing that list to target customer's directly quoting the boiler make when it was installed and by whom e.g reg number !!!!!!!!! & of course useing the corgi logo & name !!

Perhap's you bloke's are next ??? Nappitt , Elecsa ect who know's ???

I doubt any of the scheme providers will do anything like that whilst they are still fully functioning, if any of them did their members would just migrate to another scheme leaving them up poo river.
You can see why Corgi have done it, they're probably desperate to keep the name going due to the Gas Safe register and don't care who they upset.
Plus I can't see what any scheme would gain from it really.

They do, but all you have to do is prove to the provider that you've offered it to your customer and that can be as simple as a strapline on an estimate or invoice, they don't seem particularly bothered about actually selling the insurance.

Mandatory schemes?

I suppose it is some what different for electric's as there are anumber of notification scheme's available , it was some what different with the gas under Corgi's administration of the register , it was a condition of registration to notify them & only them , for all domestic install's , not commercial or boiler's installed in commercial building's !!!

So they have in effect got a list of all domestic boilers installed in the U.K over the last 5 year's , who installed them , were they are installed & knowledge of when the warranty run's out , they than appear to be targetting those boiler's , & useing the Corgi logo a brand associated with safety , thay are also offering electrical work .
Some suggest that they may not targett boiler's installed by British gas ???
only the little guy's install's , difficult to ascertain any definitive imfo yet ??
