Oh, Labours just remembered...

tbh I don't see the big deal around wearing the mask, excluding those that had/have genuine medical reasons not to. Jeez, some folk were going off on one as if the state had mandated they be worn 24/7 for the next 50 years. 'YOU'RE TAKING AWAY MY FREEDOMS!!!!' calm your jets. Our 'freedoms' are controlled every day in various ways, tis the only way our society will function at least semi-normally.

Pre covid, surely we've all been in scenarios e.g. office meeting with a colleague coughing and spluttering beside you. Then a couple of days later you're laid up for x days with the same thing. Surely better if they'd been wearing a mask to mitigate chance of spreading the germs?

MASKS DON'T PREVENT GERMS SPREADING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aye, whatever.

yes Andy, many people did lose loved ones and many people died
Many people are suffering long Covid despite your silly claims that doesn’t exist.

by the way, you have interpreted “we may lose loved ones” into “we are going to die”

Andy, just because you desperately want to believe Covid wasn’t serious, doesn’t mean it isn’t.

Of course it is a nasty disease for some, but we were told it was was worse than anything we'd ever seen before, and depending on who you listened to was going to kill millions or billions or trillions. Politicians the world over didn't believe it themselves though - you could see this by their actions in not wearing masks, not distancing and not doing all the things they told us to do. If they believed in the disease they would never have gone near each other; they would have run to the hills or hid in bunkers. They knew.

It is. Flue like with more chance of pneumonia like complications kicking in plus more infective than the common cold. Just to add to the fun pneumonia can still kick in on top of that.

A lot of the confusion appears to be due to the slogan "Save The NHS". For some reason there appears to be a number of people who do not understand what that means and why.

There is even another lot that do not know that it needs more people to treat some with it. That results in people being pulled in from other areas which means those areas can not do what they usually do. Wards get switched to cope with it and all available people are working there so some wards finish up empty.

Surgeons wear masks to protect themselves from the patients :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: medical people do wear them at times to do just that. In normal times it's more likely to be the other way round. To protect the patients from being infected by them. Some bugs are ok until they get in the blood stream.

Yeah, people moan about face masks being a violation of their liberties, then pop a mask on to do some work in the loft.

the last serious pandemic was Spanish flu - which was before our living memory.

Modelling showed a whole range of figures, but it was modelling as the scientists stated.

and it has killed millions - over 6 million.

Politicians the world over didn't believe it themselves though
The vast majority did
The sensible ones did.

the right wing libertarians that made political capital from Covid, like Trump, Johnson, Bolsonaro - all had the worst Covid outcomes.

I admit, I find masks annoying, but if they help a bit - why not, it’s not that big a deal.

Peru had the worst out come from the stastics I heard reported

dunno if they are a right wing mob

I suppose due to the deaths they must be ???

Russia did not fare well ???

The WHO places UK at 56th in the world for excess deaths, below USA, Spain, Italy and Germany, but well above Sweden who avoided lockdowns. Looking at the stats I'm not convinced about your assertion that right wing countries were more prone to covid than left wing countries. Peru excess deaths were about four times higher than the UK.
