Historically Russia has never aspired to invading the British Isles, unlike our nearest neighbours.

Any conflict between Russia and Britain has usually been of a geopolitical nature,one empire fighting another empire for control of territory neither of them owned.

In fact there have been occasions in history were without the Russians , Britain would have faced defeat, Napoleon and Hitler come to mind.
