I thought it particularly weird mot would start a thread to mark the event and make it sound like a birthday party.

It should be highlighted so as people do not forget why Israel launched their revenge on such a barbaric act of terrorism. Hardly a birthday party but a rememberance of the victims and why this war in Gaza took place. I think it is something worthy of a post and not something that requires moderating or removing.

Considering all the comments you see on this forum along the lines of saying "the Jews had it coming", "they deserved it" and "look what happened in 1948" etc. along with others attempting to justify the attack on unarmed civilians attending a festival, it wasn’t unreasonable to say that more than a few people on here will be celebrating the day. You only have to read the ‘Israel under attack' thread to see who is NOT condemning the attack to see which ones are quietly and secretly celebrating.

Nobody was/is trying to "justify the attack" on Oct. 7th.

I've pointed out reasons why it happened in the first place and learned a good deal more about those reasons in the last three years in the process. This attack didn't happen out of the blue, as people are finding out as new information becomes available. The relatives of the victims deserve to know the truth.
