One for the epidemiologists on the forum.

Ah, so "Good availability of tests" has been replaced.

Are you now saying that vaccinations are one of the reasons why new cases are so high?
Sort of, we're behind some countries now in the lower age groups. It does factor into why we've allowed the case numbers to continue to soar.

So if it isn't soaring do you think the Professor is just wrong, or perhaps lying?
Probably saying it for effect - like the currency sites when the pound rises half a cent - to emphasise his belief that more restrictions and vaccinating children should be done.

Bingo! I think I win again.

According the the full post, ( the bit you ignored ) she had Covid.

I didn't ignore the full post.

If, back at the beginning of last year, our governments hadn't scared everybody out of their wits by declaring this illness a world emergency, people would have called it a cold, got over it and carried on. Colds are a fact of life, they change all the time, but are still commonly called "colds" whilst scientists give them detailed names.

Yes, compared to the bit to the left on the graph you haven't shown.

The left bit of the graph says "limited testing" so isn't comparable with the right of the graph. The right of the graph says "wider testing available" but doesn't show how many people were tested, so it is meaningless.

Also, we don't know how many results were false positives. Some would have it that most positive covid tests are falsely positive.

with many being carried on to the graveyard.

Some people are convincing themselves that there is no pandemic. Hence they are also convinced there is no danger of them dying as a result of a pandemic.

A few of those self deluders go further and try to convince other people that there is no pandemic. The more people who believe that the pandemic is a myth the more convinced the self deluded can become.

Fear of dying from the pandemic is a strong motivation to deny that the pandemic is a real threat to that person, hence the self deluding.

Only utter idiots who can't count. There was concern the false positive rate could have been as high as 0.1%. It wasn't, for a PCR it is less/fewer than 1 in 20,000 tests run.

We know the specificity of our RT-PCR test must be very close to 100%, in particular, the data suggest that the false-positive rate is very low -- under 0.005%. For more information on the accuracy of PCR and Lateral Flow testing, please see this study and our recently published blog
https://www.ons.gov.uk/aboutus/tran...edcovid19deathspcrtestingandfalsepositiverate

All the data you'd need to check that is available. That people still repeat this idiocy is a sign they aren't being open-minded.

You don't believe that there's a lot of false positive PCR tests do you?
