Pull the fitting down and check for burn marks, and tighten connections. Try again.

If no success,

Pull the fitting down and try to find a transformer close by. Should be able to pull it through the hole. Check for damage, tighten connections. Try again.

If no success,

Replace transformer.

Hi

It may also be the bulb holder. Give the bulb a wiggle, if it comes on. Then buy a new bulb holder.

B&Q sell them for (are you sitting down?) £7.99 each

You could also try measuring the voltage out of the transformer with a multimeter, if you have one.

WRT the SELV lampholder, look at the lamp pins to see if they are pitted, or discoloured.

If they are replace the lamp as well as the lampholder.
