I have some knobs in my neighbourhood ( don't know them ) who love done graffiti work on the green cabinet boxes. I assume these are BT/broadband boxes. I seriously hope these are not postcode gangs declaring their area of domination!

I could inform the council but they take weeks to come and do something about it.

Is there something I can do ? Should I use nail polish remover or simply use dark green spray paint ?

the trouble you have is without permission, its criminal damage
now theres a fair chance no one will complain but without the permission off the boxes owner not the council you may get in trouble

That is criminal damage - unfortunately, without the permission of the owners any clean-up work or repainting might also be classed as criminal damage! BT may not like their boxes being painted bright pink...

Possibly the best thing to do is try to find the owners of the items in question (the Council Surveyors office should be able to help with that) and write to them. I'd also suggest writing to your local councillors about the grafiti (your council ward will have three councillors, if in doubt as to who they are your local council offices will be able to provide you with their names, addresses and email addresses) as well as writing to the local newspaper. All of this works better if you can get several other people to write letters as well.

Sorry, not the most helpful response, but the utilities tend not like people messing with their junction boxes in case accidental damage occurs

Funny how you don't need permission when making graffiti! :D

It's if you get caught - and I'd say being out there in broad daylight with a brush in one hand and a pot of paint in the other was a dead give away and you'd be more likely to get nicked for being a concerned resident

I go to bed at 3AM.

You should be able to catch the little buggers, then

Don't tempt me:D
When there was an outburst of 'massage' stickers in my area few years ago, I used to wake up at 5AM on weekends and then scrape them off. :D
