Anyone know what the stud spacing tends to be on paramount (egg box) partition walls? I’m planning on overboarding some, and also foaming/dabbing the new board to the wall, which will only work if there are regular (2x2) studs in them to fix through to. Cheers.

40mm ish timber rails top and bottom.
Same size uprights every 1.2m and one against the wall.

Reckon I can foam new boards to it and pop screws in to the top and bottom rails? Trying not to loose much space in the room.

The foams supposed to be able to hold board on it's own without any additional fixings

Yeah. But this paramount stuff isn’t the best, so belts and braces etc
I also need to put additional support noggins in for a radiator etc - should be fun

Be careful with that. The foam will very likely want to expand a wee bit (even the dedicated plasterboard adhesive foam), so screw AFTER the foam has done its thing.

Should be ok foamed into the egg boxing. Once its trapped in by the new plasterboard, it will be as solid as a rock.

Bit of a reversal in that I mounted a TV but the thread below is how I put studding into a paramount wall so I could mount off it.

If you can screw into your battens from the other side then make good the decoration then by the time you foam your plasterboard on the studs won't go anywhere.

Nice job! How thick was the original wall though, if it could accommodate your studwork and the osb?! The ones at my lad’s place are about 60mm wide including the plasterboard faces
