parking ticket

Got a ticket,
Done a bit of research, found because it is worded wrong, the ticket may be not valid.
I dont know how to find out more without paying for legal advise.

I have wrote in twice to the council and basically they wont reconsider it till after the 28 days

Should I pay the £40 now and forget it.
or
Pursue it further, it will then go to £80, and then after the 28 days make formal representations.
This I suppose could end up costing more.

sounds like you admit you parked wrongly.

cough up the £40 and be more careful in future.

It was parked on a meter , paid with credit card, but somehow the flimsy ticket moved and ended up face down.

You could still read it was valid, the print was so bold, although back to front and the warden logged it as seen , but said he could not read it.

The reason it is invalid is not to do with that.

The tickets and all others issued are printed wrong by the main printers.
previous case laws similar made another council stop issuing them and reprint all new ones.

The guidelines specify 14 days discount period, the ticket/pcn states 17 days, apparently this is misleading

The pepipoo forums is the best place to get help with this.

You can appeal & provide a photocopy of the ticket, explaining that it fell off because the sticky didnt or something.

You will need to scan the ticket (both sides) photoshop out any personal info (registration) and post it online for them to see (at pepipoo)

When I queried a parking ticket (because the "time seen" and the "time issued" were exactly the same), I was told that if the appeal went beyond 14 days I would not pay more if I lost, because I had begun the appeal process within that 14 day period.

I won by the way: the attendant should allow "at least" 5 minutes to give the driver a chance to get a ticket.

The fine was £ 80 discounted to £40 for 14 days.
I did write to the council regarding the ticket being readable, and they put the 14 days on hold.
They then returned there standard letter saying they had considered the facts and there were no grounds to cancel it.
Then gave me a further extended time to pay the discount rate.
once this elapses next week it will return to the initial £80.
