Part P? Please help

scousespark, I presume you are part P??!!

fancy earning yourself some money and doing some testing??!!

Hi again Fisher.....

If you need your work tested for compliance with BS7671....you should look at having a periodic test and inspection carried out but such a test will cover your entire dwelling.
At the end of the day it`s unlikely you will be asked about the electrics in your house......until (and i hope this does`nt happen) the new owners of your property hurt themselves due to electrical work carried out by someone who was`nt fully competent.
Personally i blame the goverment/authorities for not making house owners aware of what a DIYer can/cant do.

*MY OPINION ONLY*......

Hi Festa

Thanks for your post

I do agree with what everyone is saying, and yes is should be tested and yes I should have known and yes I should tell the buyers but what about all the electrical work done on properties prior to Jan 2005.

The house we are buying hasn't had any work done in years, in fact I'm sure there are very few houses that have had complete test done for a long time.

With this in mind, are we all doomed!
