Hi all, is this a ridiculous idea??....
I have a 3.5m x 9m block paved patio in the garden. Its structurally good and hasn't dipped or moved in the 4 years we have lived in our house.

My question is: could I directly concrete slab on top of the block paving? I know this sounds a bit odd but it would be a huge benefit with drainage and water runoff.

Any help, thoughts or ideas welcome. thanks.

Compared to taking up the bricks. Could I concrete large slabs straight on top of them instead of removing and laying more hardcore etc to increase the height.

I think the crucial point is dpc height. You're very unlikely to have enough space for all that, odds on your block paving is already higher than it should be unless it's the lower side of a slope.
